Occupational therapists at IHRI work with children with special needs to help them achieve physical, psychological, and social independence by focusing on specific goals.
They work in a quiet room spaces that are designed to be more sensory supportive and used primarily for the purposes of crisis de-escalation and/or prevention.
At IHRI our custom designed treatment occupational therapy rooms minimize the sensory distress many children experience while receiving therapy services.
The significant services that IHRI Occupational Therapy offers are as follows:
The sensory room is established to provide a place for them to decompress and confront a variety of sensory issues in a way that will definitely help them learn to cope with seemingly normal experiences. . Everything in the space is carefully chosen and placed so that individuals with SPD, ASD, or have difficulties integrating their senses can chill and play in an engaging and calming manner.
The term “activities of daily living,” also referred to as ADL. These activities are the basic tasks of everyday life, and they include tasks such as eating, bathing, clothing, and toileting. At IHRI, ADL room is specially designed to make child independent in their ADLs. Occupational therapists work extensively for special needs children to improve their ADL. Give enough supervision and feedback to ensure the ADL is being completed properly and observe what areas you child might need help with and what activities of daily living he can do independently.
